Ruby J Campbell, 67, of Paoli, Indiana, passed away Friday, June 16, 2023 at IU Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, IN.
Funeral services will be held at Dillman Scott Funeral Home, 226 West Campbell Street, Paoli, IN.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Dillman Scott Funeral Home, 226 West Campbell Street, Paoli, IN from 1:00 PM until the time of service at 6:00 PM. Private graveside services will be held at the Old Campbell Cemetery in Rosehill, Virginia on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 2:00 PM.
She was born June 18, 1955 in Rosehill, Virginia to Joseph and Reva Jewell McCurry Campbell who preceded her in death.
She had lived in Paoli most of her life except for about 10 years when she lived in Michigan City, Indiana.
She was a 1974 graduate of Paoli High School, then went on to Ivy Tech and graduated in 1975 with a technical certificate in Medical Assistant Technology. She worked for what was then called the Orange County Hospital in Paoli as an assistant supervisor unit clerk. She then worked for Dr Craig A McEwan in Michigan City, Indiana as a surgical assistant. After that, she worked for Grady Owen in Paoli at Owens Detective Agency as a secretary/bookkeeper.
She is survived by one brother: Donnie Wayne (Penny) Campbell and three sisters: Sandra L (Paul T) Hammons, Rose M (John Pancake) Baker, and Joe Ann (A808) Benninghoff, all of Paoli, Indiana. Four nieces: Sheila Crawford, Kimberly Robbins, Stephanie (Tim) Drury, and Deirdre (Brian) Woods. Four nephews: Paul G (Carri) Hammons, Danny (Jennifer) Baker, Jr, Benjamin (Aylissa) Benninghoff, and Brandon (Leah) Mesarosh. Eight great nieces: Hailey, Mikaela, Mackenzie, Jewellea, Breah, Kayleigh, and Danielle. Eight great nephews: Jared, Dalton, Brice, Wyatt O, Anthony, Austin, and Griffin.
She was preceded in death by one brother: Ricky Joe Campbell, two nephews: Byron J. Benninghoff, and Cole G Crawford and her grandparents Mannuel and Fanny (Shackleford) McCurry, James and Hattie (Daniel) Campbell.
