Michael Ray Underwood

Michael Ray Underwood, 77, of Paoli, Indiana, formerly of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at his home. He was born on March 6, 1945 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Francis and Vivian Cushing Underwood.

He married Judy J Hollenbeck on August 20, 1967 and she survives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sons Jamin and Jordan Underwood, sister Pamela Kerr, and cousin Ruby Vandeveer.

He was a graduate of the 1963 class of Thomas Carr Howe High School.  He was also a member of Saving Historic Orange County.

  He was employed as a paint department manager at Sears in Indianapolis, IN.  He then retired from Shorewood Packaging of Indianapolis, IN as a maintenance manager.  After retiring, he worked at the Pete Dye, Donald Ross, and French Lick Resort golf courses.  He also painted at the French Lick Resort Hotel.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, playing cards and collecting elves.

Three grandchildren survive:  Ian Underwood, Cody Underwood, and Ashley Underwood.

Three great grandchildren also survive Michael Underwood:   Liberty Underwood, Sophia Tuzzio.

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM on Friday, November 4, 2022 at Dillman-Scott Funeral Home, 226 W Campbell Street, Paoli, IN 47454. Interment to follow at Providence Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of service Friday, November 4, 2022.
