Mary Ann Block

Mary Ann Block, 84, of Paoli, Indiana, passed away Monday, June 19, 2023 at Springs Valley Meadows, French Lick, IN.

She was born October 15, 1938 in Onida, South Dakota to Lee Westphal and Berenice Joachim Westphal.  She married David Block Sr on Jan 30, 1955 and he survives.

Mary was a graduate of Agar High School, Agar, South Dakota. She was employed at the Orange County Hospital as a nurse’s aide and a medical billing clerk.  She was also a seamstress and a homemaker. She was a youth leader for the Orange County 4-H Council and a member of Green Acres Gals.  In her spare time Mary enjoyed golfing, fishing, camping, and spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Catherine Block on June 3, 1972 and son Gary Duane Block.

She is survived by six grandchildren:  Gerrod (Vivian) Block, Kyrstin Block, Kelsey Gilliatt McCracken, Kinley Block, Andy (Cassey) Moore, and Marcie Moore.  Mary is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Dillman Scott Funeral Home, 226 West Campbell Street, Paoli, IN.  Visitation will also be on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Paoli Community Cemetery, Paoli, Indiana.
