Marvin D Gilliatt, age 90, of Paoli, Indiana passed away Saturday, November 4, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born September 25, 1933 in English, IN to Henry E and Gladys Marie Livingston Gilliatt.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Victor, Truman, and Everett Gilliatt.
He graduated with the Paoli High School class of 1951.
He married Thelma L. Minton on April 20, 1952 and she survives.
He was a member of Ames Chapel United Methodist Church, Paoli Jaycees, Paoli Masonic Lodge #119 F & AM, the Murat Shrine Temple of Indianapolis, IN and the Hadi Shrine Temple of Evansville, IN.
He was an insurance agent for Kentucky Central and then co-owned the Green Acres Country Club with his brother Vic from April 1977 to May 1993.
Marvin enjoyed woodworking and traveling with his wife, Thelma and golfing trips with his buddies. He was a lover of country and bluegrass music and had the most fun riding his side by side with his grandchildren.

Also surviving Marvin are seven grandchildren, two step grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Visitation will be held at Dillman Scott Funeral Home, 226 West Campbell St, Paoli, IN on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 3:00 – 7:00 PM and from 9:00 AM Thursday, November 9, 2023 until the time of service at 1:00 PM, also at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Paoli Community Cemetery, Paoli, IN. Masonic services will be held by Paoli Masonic Lodge #119 F & AM at 6:00 PM Wednesday, November 8, 2023.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hosparus Health Development Office, 6200 Dutchmans Lane, Louisville, KY 40205 or the Ames Chapel Cemetery Fund, c/o Connie Kerby, 2225 N.
