Joy A Riley

Joy A. Riley MSN, APRN, PMHCNS, of Oreland PA.,                                                       

died peacefully at her home, June 3rd 2020                                                           .

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny D. 

and Etta Jane (Price) Riley. Grandparents, Charles & Hattie

Riley, Wayne and Thelma Price.

Joy graduated from Indiana University in 1979,

with her BSN and obtained her Masters in Nursing in 1985.

She was an adjunct faculty member at I.U.P.U.I.  In

addition, she was a member of Alpha Phi sorority.

Most will remember Joy as an undeniable Hoosier basketball

“fanatic”, and was a member of the Order of the Chair.  She

frequently did an anticipated and colorful online game

commentary.

Most recently, Joy held a Senior Acct. Mgr. position for a health

insurance group. She traveled occasionally for work, but

always consider Indiana as her home.

Joy was deeply involved in Greyhound and Boston terrier rescue

for many years. These groups were a great passion for her.

She also loved to travel, cook, read, watch movies,

and visit with friends. Joy leaves many dear friends, most whom

she’d known for multiple decades, throughout the United States.

We will mourn her, but also celebrate a life well lived. She was smart,

strong willed, kind, and had a wry sense of humor.

She is survived by her Aunt and other

cousins, across the country.

In her honor, please practice kindness, and maybe raise a glass at

Nick’s when in Bloomington.

A memorial for Joy will take place on July 25th from 1:00 – 4:00pm and the private interment will be in the Paoli Community Cemetery of Paoli, IN. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Dillman-Scott

Funeral Home, of Paoli.
