Joan Claire (Reamer) Daugherty

Joan Claire Daugherty, 76, of Carmel, Indiana, passed away on July 19, 2024, from gastric cancer.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia A. and Donald M. Reamer of Indianapolis, Indiana.   She is survived by her Husband of 51 years, Daniel R. Daugherty.  Additionally, she is survived by cousins: Barb Floyd and Kristin Caldwell.  She was born on April 11,1948 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Joan graduated from Arlington High School.  Upon graduation from DePauw University, Joan worked at L.S. Ayres & Company for 5 years in various positions.  In 1976, she founded Your Way Decorating Centre, a retail store selling wallpaper, paint, and window treatments.  Alongside her husband, they managed and grew their business for over 22 years.  Upon selling the business, Joan embarked on a second career.  She was a title specialist for a consulting company that managed large fleets of commercial vehicles.  She was a member of the Junior League of Indianapolis.  At retirement, she continued her lifelong hobbies of gardening, reading, working jigsaw puzzles, and following Indy car and Nascar racing.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM on Tuesday July 23, 2024, at Dillman Scott Funeral Home, 226 W. Campbell St.in Paoli, Indiana.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM on Tuesday July 23, 2024, at Dillman Scott Funeral Home, 226 W. Campbell St. in Paoli, Indiana.

Interment to follow at Stamper’s Creek Cemetery in Paoli, Indiana.
