Jacqlyn Rice Obituary

Jacqlyn Paige Brianna Rice, 22, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023. Jacqlyn was born on September 29, 2000, in Bedford to Tammy Rodman and Richard Rice. She graduated from Paoli Jr. Sr. High School in 2019 where she won a handful of Sectional Championships and lead the girls’ basketball team to their first regional championship in over 30 years.

Jacqlyn was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Ethel Rae and Jack Rice, her maternal grandfather, Jim Tillett, and her uncle, Jeff Rice.

Jacqlyn was a fiery light that you could always see coming. She was so warm but could easily turn dangerous if someone hurt her people. She was passionate, kind, loving, and had the biggest heart. She didn’t know a stranger and would have given everything she had to someone in need. Jacqlyn loved her people fiercely and would move heaven and earth to make them happy and keep them safe. She always led heart first, and while that sometimes got her into trouble, it also just made her Jack, our fearless protector. Her smile was radiant and her laugh filled up a room. Her hugs were a safe space that once you were engulfed in, you never wanted her to let you go. If you were lucky enough to know the real Jack, lucky enough that she let you in passed her hard exterior, then you know what a blessing it was to know her. You know she was a one-of-a-kind angel sent here to make this dark world a little brighter. You know that the world will feel this loss. It will be dimmer and less colorful and nothing will ever feel the same again. She was the light. She IS the light. She was everything.
