Herbert Larry Gehl

Herbert Larry Gehl, 76, of Paoli, Indiana, passed away Thursday, October19, 2023 at his home in Paoli, Indiana. He was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on June 11, 1947, to Richard and Estelee Roach Gehl.

He married Donita Sue Wells on March 16, 1971, and she survives.

Herb was preceded in death by his Parents Brothers Marvin, Herman SR, and Eddie” ET” Gehl.  

Sisters Norma and Carol. 

He graduated from Paoli High School with the class of 1967. 

A proud United States Army Veteran 1967-1977 serving in the Vietnam conflict. After his military discharge he became an officer for the Paoli Police department serving from 1977 until his retirement in 2012. 

Herb enjoyed Hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family.

Visitation will be held at Dillman Scott Funeral Home, 226 West Campbell St, Paoli, IN on Monday, October 23, 2023 from 3:00 –7:00 PM and Tuesday, October 24, 2023 from 9:00 AM until the time of service.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 11:00 AM also at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at the Paoli Community Cemetery.
