William "Billy" Padgett

William “Billy” Padgett, 92, of Paoli, IN passed away on September 16, 2026, at Paoli Health and Living Community, surrounded by family. He was born December 8,1933, in Paoli, Indiana to Charles and Suda L. Dunn Padgett, both of whom preceded him in death. Bill married Lois G. Bennett on September 28, 1956, and she preceded him in death January 1, 2014.

Billy was also preceded in death by his:

Sisters: Mary Sermershein, Dessie Brown, Sylia Ray, and Grace Pryor

Brothers: Charles Padgett and Daniel L. Padgett

Billy was a member of Paoli High School Class of 1952 and the Orange County Saddle Club.

He attended the Paoli Wesleyan Church.

Billy was a member of the US Army and a Veteran of the Korean war.

Billy was a retired carpenter and had been a member of the Carpenters Local Union #546 out of Vincennes, IN.

Over the years, Billy put his hands and heart into many kinds of work. He formerly owned Padgett’s Slaughterhouse and Billy Padgett Hauling, farmed the land, and sold Old Timer and Timberline wood stoves.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 20, 2026, at the Paoli Wesleyan Church. (601 S.W. 1st Street Paoli, IN 47454))

Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Saturday, September 19, 2026, and on Sunday starting at 12:00 PM, until the time of the Funeral Service, also held at the Paoli Wesleyan Church.

Interment will follow Funeral service at Paoli Community Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Paoli Wesleyan Church Building Fund.
