Virginia E Forbes

VIRGINIA E FORBES, 87 of Franklin, Indiana, formerly of Paoli, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at the Indiana Masonic Home. She was born March 16, 1927 in Clinton, Iowa to John and Virginia (Mercer) Miller.  She was a 1945 graduate of Clinton High School.  She married Reverend Powell Forbes on February 12, 1956 in Clinton. She then joined her husband in his ministry at the First Baptist Church in Paoli until his death on April 5, 1993. She worked for Mintworth Auto Parts as their bookkeeper for 27 years retiring in 2005 when she moved to the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin. She is survived by her daughter, Rachel E (John) Kaufman of Evansville, her son, Dan (Patty) Forbes of Whiteland. Grandchildren, John Christian (Rebeka) Kaufman of Newburgh, Amanda (Chris) Deaton of Indianapolis, and Joey Forbes of Whiteland.  Great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Gracie & Kortnie Kaufman and Blake & Kennedy Deaton.  Two sisters, Ruth Goodell of Clinton, Iowa and Jackie (John) Malone of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister Lucille Suter and her nephew David Suter. Friends may call Sunday, February 15, from 4-8pm at Dillman Scott Funeral Home and 10 AM until service time at the church. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, February 16, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Paoli with Brothers Pat Fahey & James Walters officiating.  Interment to follow at Paoli Community Cemetery.
