Sonya King

Sonya Lynn King, 60, Orleans, IN passed away on March 5, 2026, at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. She was born May 28, 1965, in New Port, Oregon to Robert Lee Gourley and Millia Jane Cole Gourley. Sonya Married Paul D King in 1991 and he survives

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Sonya retired from Dunn Memorial Hospital, where she dedicated many years of service. She was a proud graduate of Paoli High School, completing her studies with the class of 1984.

Sonya had a true love for fishing and enjoyed spending her free time by the water. She frequently attended yard sales, always searching for unique treasures. Creativity was one of her gifts, and she found joy in embroidering sweatshirts for Christmas and other special occasions. Family gatherings were especially meaningful to Sonya, as she delighted in creating personalized gifts for her loved ones. Above all, she was deeply devoted to her pets, caring for them with unconditional love throughout her life.

Sisters: Debra Phillips (Joe) Paoli, Indiana

Bobbi Gourley (Charlie Graznak) Columbia, Missouri

In honor of Sonya’s memory, the family requests that donations be made to the Lawrence County Dog Club. Contributions can be sent to PO Box 113, Mitchell, IN 47446.

Cremation was chosen.
