Sandra Scoudan (Lambdin) Bennett, 88, of Paoli, IN passed away on July 1, 2026, at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. She was born August 30, 1937, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Ernest E. and Fern E. Orr Scoudan, both of whom preceded her in death. Sandra married Kenneth Bennet on October 11, 2011, and he survives.
Sandra was also preceded in death by her:
Brother: Ernest Lynn Scoudan
Former husband: Gordon Lee Lambdin
Sandra was a devoted wife, mother, Nana, and faithful follower of Jesus Christ. Her greatest joy in life was loving others, and she did so with a generous heart that knew no limits. Family was her greatest treasure, and she never missed an opportunity to encourage, support, and celebrate those she loved.
Sandra attended Central Baptist Church for the past 14 years and was a longtime member of Paoli Christian Church. Her faith was the foundation of her life and was evident in the way she served her family, her church, and everyone fortunate enough to know her. She possessed a true servant's heart, quietly giving of herself through countless acts of kindness and ministry.
Sandra never met a stranger. She had a remarkable gift for making friends wherever she went, leaving people feeling welcomed, valued, and loved. She carried herself with grace, warmth, and genuine compassion, always placing the needs of others before her own. Her beautiful smile, gentle spirit, and unwavering love will be remembered by all whose lives she touched.
She found joy in life's simple pleasures—traveling, shopping, sharing coffee or iced tea with friends, meals at Cracker Barrel, fast cars, horses, ducks and so much more. Yet above all else, Sandra cherished her Savior and her family. The love she gave so freely will continue to live on through the many lives she shaped and the family she leaves behind. Though her presence will be deeply missed, her example of faith, kindness, and unconditional love will remain an enduring legacy for generations to come.
