Ruth "Sissy" (Chestnut) Higgs

Ruth E “Sissy” Chestnut Higgs, 80, Paoli, IN passed away December 22, 2023 in Indianapolis, IN.  She was born in Paoli, IN on January 9, 1943 to William L Chestnut and Maxine L Zink Chestnut.

She married Forest Higgs on October 28, 1968 and he precedes her in death along with her parents.

Sissy was a member of the Central Baptist Church, Paoli, IN, the Women’s Auxiliary American Legion Post #76, French Lick, IN, the former president of the Women’s Auxiliary Paoli VFW, Paoli, IN and was a 40 year member of the Paoli Bowling League.  She retired from Paoli Furniture after 36 years of employment.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Dillman Scott Funeral Home, 226 West Campbell Street, Paoli, IN.  Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 27, 2023 also at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 2:00 PM. Interment to follow at Paoli Community Cemetery, Paoli, IN.
