Rodger Elliott, 85, passed away peacefully at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana on December 27, 2024, with his two daughters, Tami (Elliott) Masden and Jill (Elliott) Fogelsong by his side. He was born June 29, 1939, in Alexis, Illinois to William (Curd) and Effie Coates Elliott, both of whom preceded him in death. He married only once to Bonnie Sue Milligan on July 18, 1958; and she survives. Rodger was also preceded in death by five siblings and his son, Ricky Dale Elliott. Rodger was a member of the Little Mission Church in Hardinsburg, Indiana. He retired from a career of long-haul trucking and was one of the best.
Rodger was a dedicated Christian. From the moment he found Christ and surrendered his heart to Jesus, he was committed to that life and never looked back. He was very much loved and respected for that. Rodger happily and patiently expected to finally meet Jesus one day in Heaven along with his family and friends who went before him. There is no doubt that this is where he is rejoicing and celebrating now.
Rodger is also survived by his two daughters, three grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
Cremation was pre-planned by Rodger. In lieu of a funeral or celebration of life, his desire was for family and friends to simply celebrate him through personal memories and good times created over the years.
