Robert Richard Frank

Robert Richard Frank, 93, Paoli, passed away at 5:20 P.M. March 25, 2014, at The Medco Center in French Lick, IN.  He was born October 18, 1920 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Herman and Esther Rabold Frank.  He married Kathleen Brown in August 2, 1941. She preceded him in death on October 19, 2004. He was also preceded in death by his Parents, 1 son Richard Frank, 1 sister Patricia Apple, and his late companion Ruth Cope. Robert Frank started working for Robert’s Brass in Mitchell, IN in 1952 as a machinist and worked his way up to the position as Plant Manager retiring in 1980, from United Technologies; which bought out Robert’s Brass. Robert Frank graduated from Arsenal Technical H.S., in Indianapolis, in 1938. He was an Eagle Scout and was a 2nd Class Motor Machinists on a DE105 Destroyer Escort in the European and Asian Theater in the US Navy after WWII. Robert was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Paoli and served not only as a Sunday school teacher; but as Clerk of the sessions for many years. He was appointed to the Paoli School Board during the construction of the new High School in the late 60’s and he served as the Board of President from 1967-1969. He actively farmed for over 60 years. Surviving are: 2 sons:   Roger and Wanda Frank   Lowell, IN Don and Lore Frank   San Diego, CA 1 daughter:   Robin and Joe Stackhouse   French Lick, IN 2 brothers:    Donald Frank   Linton, IN Dale Frank   Indianapolis, IN 1 daughter-in-law:   Terry Frank   New Albany, IN 18 Grandchildren, 21 Great-Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great Grandchild The funeral will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday on March 30, 2014 at the Paoli Presbyterian Church with Pastor Nancy Waters officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 PM Saturday, March 29, 2014 and from 12:00 P.M. until time of service at Paoli Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at the Paoli Community Cemetery.
