Patricia Louise Applegate

Patricia “Patty” Louise Applegate, 88, Orleans, IN passed away on June 5, 2026, at her home. She was born October 20, 1937, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Ernest and Helen Plaque Cherry, both of whom preceded her in death. Patricia married Robert Applegate Sr. on October 21, 1956, and he preceded her in death.

Patty was also preceded in death by her son, Robert “Bobby” Applegate Jr. and several siblings.

She was a member of Class of 1955 at St. Mary’s Catholic High School in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Patty was a District Manager at Walmart in Carmel, Indiana, where she eventually retired from. She worked for Sam Walton’s prior to them changing over to Walmart. She traveled the country setting up Walmart stores when they were first opening.

She retired to a golf cart community in Florida where she loved participating in community activities like the theatre and comedy.

Most of all, Patty enjoyed spending time with her family.

Cremation was chosen.

A celebration of life is being planned by the family to be held at a later date in Florida. We will update this listing when the details are finalized.
