Opal Mattox Robbins, 100 of Paoli, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Meadowview Convalescent Center in Salem IN. She was born on April 15, 1915 in Orange County, IN. being the oldest daughter to George Mattox and Georgia Marshall Mattox. She had celebrated her 100 th birthday last April and she was one month of her 101 st birthday.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul (Frosty) Robbins, one sister Larrane Mattox Clements, one brother in law Wendell Clements, one niece Carol Kellams Clark and all of her Robbins brother and sister-in-law’s.
She married Paul (Frosty) Robbins on September 6, 1939. They were married 49 years before he passed on November 1, 1987.
She graduated from Hardinsburg High School, in Hardinsburg, IN. One of her favorite things to do growing up was playing softball. She was a Christian by faith. She belonged to the Paoli Fireman’s Auxiliary and was a founding member of the Orange County Humane Society. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. She enjoyed working with young people and mentored many of them through her life.
She worked in number of business in Orange County, including Travelers, Radcliffe Furniture, Plemmons Pharmacy and Robbins Refrigeration. If a job needed to be done she would learn it and work it to the best of her ability.

Piper Robbins and( fiancé: De Blenniss), Chicago, IL
Also surviving Opal Mattox Robbins, is 3 great-grandchildren Mariam, Adam and Norah Elwafi. Two nephews Fred Robbins, from Paoli and Sam Kellams from Charlottesville, VA. Nine nieces Barbara Robbins Underwood, Alice Robbins Walls, Janice Robbins Vaughn, Patricia Clements, Paoli. Junella Robbins Chapman, Rena Robbins Watson, Indianapolis, Kay Robbins Conner, Bedford, Freda Kellams Mitchem, Chevy Chase Maryland, and Sue Kellams Giddings, Boyerstown, PA and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be 11.30 AM, Friday, March 18, 2016 at the Dillman-Scott Funeral Home 226 West Campbell Street Paoli, IN. With Kenion Coleman and Sharon Rostad officiating. Visitation to be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
