Norma Spalding

She walked in beauty like the night…and now she walks in heavens light…our beautiful angel, has gone to be with her heavenly Father. Norma Louise (White) (Ott) Spalding was born on January 10, 1942 in Paoli, Indiana. She passed away peacefully at her home in Paoli on Saturday, June 18, 2022 surrounded by her loving family and friends. Norma was 80 years old. Norma was the 2nd oldest child of Woody and Ruth White of Paoli, Indiana. She attended Throop Grade School and graduated from Paoli High School in 1960. Norma was a business manager of: an automotive sales company, a restaurant and a furniture store. She even had her own catering business at one point. Norma always had a warm smile and kind words for everyone she met. Norma was a wonderful cook, baker and hostess, she loved to cook all types of dishes and made legendary cakes, candy and fudge. Norma also loved to garden, decorate her home and entertain. She always made everyone feel special and at home. Norma was a lifelong member of Eastern Star and a Roman Catholic. Norma has two children, Velvet R. Kee (Michael) Richmond, Kentucky, LTC (USA) Jonathan B. Ott (Bethany) Hayes, Virginia and a special child, Ketty Hernandez, a Cuban Immigrant sponsored by Catholic Charities who lived with Norma from age 6-18. Two grandchildren: Joshua Kee (Melissa) Rineyville, Kentucky and Holli Ison of Georgetown, KY, one great grandchild, Keegan Rodgers of Georgetown, KY, sisters: Melody Morin (Larry) of Bedford, IN and Anita Myers (Lawrence) of Bedford, IN, brothers: J.R. White (Becky) of New Albany, IN, Steve White (Diane) of West Baden, IN, Frankie White (Connie) of Sellersburg, IN, and Joe White (Rita) Paoli, IN Norma was proceeded in death by her parents, her first husband Wilbur Boyd Ott and her second husband Joseph Milton Spalding, her infant daughter Rebecca Ruth Ott and a special Yorkie named Josiah, her faithful companion of 17 years. Funeral Services are being handled by Dillman - Scott Funeral Home of Paoli, Indiana. A Christian Mass will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church in Paoli, Indiana on Friday June 24, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. with interment at Old Union Church Cemetery.
