Melanie Jo Harkness Detwiler, 54, of Paoli, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Salem Crossing Assisted Living Facility in Salem, IN. She was born December 2, 1970, in Paoli, IN to Jimmy Lee Harkness Sr. and Linda Jean Cecil Harkness, both of whom preceded her.

She was also preceded by her brother, Jimmy Lee Harkness Jr.

Melanie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Paoli and the Paoli High School Class of 1989.
