Marjorie May Hoar Marlette, 100, of Paoli, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at her home. She was born on November 11, 1925, in Campbellsburg, IN to Lannes Beecher Hoar and Chloe Smedley Hoar, both of whom preceded her. She married Harold Marlette on May 26, 1946, and he preceded her in death as well.
Along with her parents and husband, Marjorie was also preceded by:
3 Sisters: Mildred Hoar, Faye Crane, and Mary Lindsey.
Marjorie was a member of the Mt. Tabor Christian Church in Campbellsburg, IN.
She was a member of the Orleans High School class of 1943.
Marjorie was a stenographer for the U.S. Government. During World War II, she worked as an ammunition inspector.
She had many interests including: history, various educational pursuits, reading, archeology, music, gardening, and travelling.
Marjorie was a very devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Memorial Service to be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Dillman-Scott Funeral Home, 226 W. Campbell St. Paoli, IN.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Saturday, January 17, 2026. Location: Dillman-Scott Funeral Home, 226 W. Campbell St. Paoli, IN.
Interment will be planned at a later time to be held at Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Campbellsburg, IN.
