Leonard Magner 88 years of age of Paoli passed away Thursday, November 03, 2011 at Paoli Health and Living Community. He was born July 27, 1923 in Orleans Indiana to Russell and Zula Magner. Leonard married Jean Shelton on September 13, 1947. He worked as an assistant manager for A & P Grocery Store; he was the owner of Magner Restaurant, operator of Shell Gas Station and Bridgestone Motorcycles, owner of Somebody’s Place and was a school bus driver for Paoli Schools for 27 years. He was a WWII Army Veteran, a 50 year member of the Paoli Masonic Lodge #119 and the La-Ma-Or Shrine Club. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a brother, Leland Magner.
Survivors include:
Son: Trent (Beverly) Magner of Paoli
4 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren
Several Nieces and Nephews
There will be a memorial visitation held from 1 – 5 PM, Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the Wellman Funeral Home, 226 W. Campbell St. in Paoli. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Orange County Community Foundation. Online condolences can be made at wellmanfh.com
