Leona Collins

Leona Ethel Collins, 96, of Orleans, IN passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Mitchell Manor Nursing Home, Mitchell, IN.  She was born May 28, 1918 to Herschel and Hulda Lane Dailey in Paoli, IN.  She married John Franklin Collins in 1934 and he preceded her in death on July 28, 1981.  She retired from Beatty’s Flower Shop, Paoli and was a long time member of the Wesleyan Church in Paoli, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Banks, Brice and Robert Daily, sisters Roxy Minton, Lucille Johnson, and Jean Ferguson, sons Bobby and Billy Collins, and daughters Christine Collins and Lynn Jones. She is survived by: Son:                            John (Rita) Collins                   Paoli, IN Daughter:                   Peggy (Leo) Toby                 Orleans, IN Brother                        Judy Daily                               Paoli, IN She was affectionately known at “Grandma Cookie” by her grandchildren.  She is survived by 19 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 14 great-great grandchildren and 1 great-great-great grandchild. Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Friday, October 17, 2014 and from 9:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm at Dillman-Scott Funeral Home, Paoli.  Bob England will be officiating.  Interment to follow at the Paoli Community Cemetery.
