James William Taflinger

James William Taflinger, 85, of Paoli, Indiana, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020 at Floyd Memorial Hospital, New Albany Indiana.  He was born October 16, 1935 in Mitchell, Indiana to Newton Andrew and Maude Smith Taflinger. James married Paula Boyd on November 24, 1955 and she survives.

James was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Newton Jr., sisters, Jean Sloan, Ann McCart, and Eleanor Graves.

He was a member of the Paoli Masonic Lodge #119 F&AM. James was a member of the Paoli Friends Meeting.  He enjoyed watching baseball and was an avid Cubs fan. James loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He worked as a Carpenter and Millwright and supervised the dismantling of nuclear powerplants.

Grandchildren: Jeremy (Holly) Ashley of Paoli, Brett Matthew of Jeffersonville, and Kylee (Brandon) Kellams of Orleans, and 9-great-grandchildren also survive James Taflinger.

Public visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Friday, December 18, 2020 with a private memorial service to follow at Dillman-Scott Funeral Home. Due to the Corona Virus Pandemic, guests are required to wear a mask and practice social distancing. If you are experiencing any symptoms of illness, such as fevers or chills, cough, shortness of breath, muscle, or body aches, etc., we ask that you do not attend. Thank you for your cooperation.
