Hester Rainey Andis, 93 formerly of French Lick, IN. passed away Friday March 3, 2017, at Bennett Place, New Albany, IN.  She was born August 26, 1923 in French Lick, IN. To Charles and Henrietta Miller Rainey.   She married James King in 1941 and he passed away in 1944, James C. Wells in 1945, he passed in 1950, William R. Andis in 1956 he passed in 2008.   She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands , one son Larry Joe Wells, five brothers  Alfred, Fred, Russell, Sylvester, Clifford, five sisters Dora, Rose, Pearl, Ruby, Ida and one granddaughter Chelsea Wells.

She retired from ICI Army Ammunitions Plant, Charlestown, IN.

She was a former member of Paoli First Baptist Church.

Also surviving Hester Rainey Andis are 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren and 4 great- great grandchildren.

Funeral  Services will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday  March  8, 2017 at Dillman-Scott Funeral Home.  Diane Hinkle officiating.  Interment will follow in the Concord Church Cemetery in Paoli,  Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Tuesday, March 7, 2017, and from 9 AM until the time of service on Wednesday at the Dillman-Scott Funeral Home, 226 West Campbell Street, Paoli, IN 47454.
