Hedy Jean Charles King, 69, of Paoli, Indiana passed away Wednesday December 26, 2018 at her home.   She was born on June 25, 1949 in Paoli, Indiana to Robert Van Charles and Helen Elizabeth Minton Charles.  She married Stephen Wayne King on December 16, 1966.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Steve.

She was a homemaker until her kids were teenagers. She fulfilled a lifelong dream of college and earned her Bachelor’s degree from IU and then her Master’s at ISU.  She worked for various health and welfare groups while attending school and raising three teenagers.  She worked at all three county schools spending the last 20 plus years at Springs Valley.

1-Daughter:

Courtney and Ken Smith,               Lowood, Australia

2-Brothers:

Michael Van and Carol Charles,    Paoli, Indiana

Robert K. and Donna Charles,       Paoli, Indiana

1-Sister:

Deborah and Buck Babcock,          Paoli, Indiana

Also surviving Hedy Jean Charles King, are six grandchildren Joseph Brown, Shayla Odle, Mackenzie King, Madeleine King, Caleb King and Gavin King.

Funeral Services will be 6:00 P.M. Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the Dillman-Scott Funeral Home with Pastor Buck Babcock officiating.  Cremation to follow.  Visitation to be held Saturday December 29, 2018 from 1 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the Dillman-Scott Funeral Home, 226 West Campbell Street, Paoli, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Mercy Center/Grace Haven, 308 S. Oak Street, Paoli, Indiana
