Harold "Squirrely" Lane

Dillman-Scott Funeral Home Harold “Squirrely” Lane, 91 of Paoli, passed away Tuesday October 27, 2015, at IU Health of Paoli.  He was born August 20, 1924, in Paoli, IN to Earl Lane and Fern Lane.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Kenneth Dale Lane, one sister Marjorie Dailey and one great grandchild Bryan Oimedo.  He married Charlotte Gooding on September 27, 1946. He owned and operated the Welcome Inn, Andy’s, and the Blue Tea Pot restaurant. He later owned Lanes Standard Oil.  He also worked for Harold Weaver’s Ford Dealership and then he later retired from the Indiana Dept of Transportation as the Paoli maintenance unit foreman. He served as the Orange County Counsel for 4 terms for 16 years. He also served on the Orange County Alcoholic Beverage Board for several years and the Orange County Republican Precinct Committeeman. He was a member of the Paoli United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Orange County Republican Party and the Paoli Masonic Lodge, #119 F&AM. Survivors include: His Wife: Charlotte Lane Paoli, IN 1-Son: Christopher Harold Lane and wife Connie   Columbus, IN 2-Daughters: Cathy Sue Pallanez and husband Thomas Houston, TX Nancy Ann Cook and husband Danny   Paoli, IN Also surviving Harold “Squirrely” Lane, are seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM, Monday November 2, 2015 at Dillman-Scott Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at the Paoli Community Cemetery, Paoli, IN.  Visitation to be held Sunday November 1, 2015 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with the Masonic Services to be held at 6:00 P.M.and from 9 AM until the time of service on Mondayat the Dillman-Scott Funeral Home 226 West Campbell Street Paoli, IN.
