Gertrude B. Mikus (Trudy), 91, of Orleans, Indiana, formerly of Crawford, Colorado, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, in Orleans, Indiana. She was born September 21, 1930, in Aurora, Illinois to Paul and Frances Molitor. Trudy was loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who lived to serve others and found adventure in every day. She was a “Friend of the Library” in Crawford, Colorado and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Paonia, Colorado. Gertrude was an avid tennis player and played with a group of friends twice a week at Paonia, Colorado Courts up till about 1 1/2 years ago. Before moving to Colorado, she enjoyed singing in the choir at St. Patricks Church in Yorkville, Illinois. Upon moving to Colorado, she was active at St. Margaret Mary Church in Hochkiss, Colorado, before attending Sacred Heart Church in Paonia, Colorado. Gertrude attended Good Council Grade School and Madonna High School, both in Aurora, Illinois. She married William “Bill” Mikus on May 30, 1958, at Our Lady of Good Council Catholic Church in Aurora, Illinois, and he survives.
She was preceded in death by her son, Anthony “Tony” Mikus., 2-Brothers, Ray and Gene Molitor, and her beloved sister, Delores McKeown.

5-Grandchildren, Robbin Mikus, Megan Mikus, Jacob Tapp, Benjamin Tapp, and Abigail Tapp, and 1-Great-Grandchild, Zoe Tolman-Mikus, and several brother-in=laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, and nephews also survive Trudy B. Mikus.
A Funeral Mass will be held at a later date at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Paonia, Colorado. Interment will be at Crawford Cemetery in Crawford, Colorado.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Trudy’s name to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, or St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
