Gene Holland

Gene Holland, 81, Paoli, passed away Friday, January 2, 2015 at his residence.   He was born on January 9, 1933 in Greenfield Township to Samuel Wilbur Holland and Sarah Edith Denbo Holland. He married Patricia Joan Rutherford on September 28, 1956. She preceded him in death on May 14, 1990. He was also preceded in death by his parents, grandson Jeffrey Carlisle Holland, brothers Wilbur, Howard and Charles, sisters Ruby Robbins, Pauline Holland, Lois Holland, Amy Kaiser, Lottie Crowe, and Mary Seybold. He was a member of Syria Christian Church and 1393 IBEW Local of Indianapolis, IN. He was a veteran of the US Army Korean War, retired from Orange County REMC and worked 20 years for the Town of Paoli. Survivors include: Sons: Mike and wife Cheryl Holland                         Paoli, IN Jeff Holland and companion Dana Kerilla                        Bloomingon, IN Brother: Samuel L Holland                                                                  French Lick, IN Also surviving Gene Holland are two grandchildren. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at the Dillman-Scott Funeral Home 226 West Campbell Street Paoli, IN.  Visitation to be held Tuesday, January 6, 2015 from 5:00-8:00 PM and from 9:00 AM until the time of  service at the funeral home on Wednesday.  Interment will follow at Syria Cemetery with Reverend Doug Finney officiating.
