Born on September 11, 1958, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, to Gloria and David Swick Sr. Gary dedicated his life to faith, family, and service.
From a young age, Gary had a passion for hockey and played through high school. However, his greatest calling was to ministry. He pursued his studies at Ozark Christian College and later earned his master’s degree from Cincinnati Christian University. Over the years, he faithfully served as a pastor in nine different churches across the Midwest, including Williamstown Christian Church in Williamstown, KY, and most recently, Paoli Christian Church in Paoli, IN.
Gary’s love for Christ was evident in every aspect of his life. He was a dedicated servant, a gentle leader, a compassionate listener, and guided many to Jesus. His ministry touched countless lives, and his messages of faith, hope, and love will continue to inspire those he shepherded.
Beyond his pastoral work, Gary was a devoted husband to his wife, Deborah, and a loving father to his seven children: David, Rachel [Andrew], Krystal, Carrie [Andrew], Ammie [Chris], Christian, and Joy as well as 11 beloved grandchildren. He is also survived by his parents, Gloria and David Swick Sr., brother David [Annette] Swick Jr. & sister Sue [Rick] Shirley, as well as many extended family members, friends, and members of the congregations he faithfully served.
