Gary “ Smooth” D Moore, 73, Paoli, passed away May 3, 2023 at his residence.  He was born in Chaplin, KY on April 7, 1950 to Chester D and Lavon Richardson Moore.

He married Violet Sue Marshall on August 19, 1972 and she preceded him in death on March 23, 2021.  He is also preceded in death by his parents, daughter Melissa, and brothers Donald Moore, Willie Moore and Lonnie Dewitt Moore.

He retired from IBEW #481, Indianapolis, IN as a construction worker.  He also worked construction for the  Laborer Union 571 of Louisville, KY.

He loved the outdoors, hunting, and fishing.  He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Also surviving Gary are two grandsons, Jason Moore, and Noah Moore of Paoli, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, May 8, 2023 at Dillman Scott Funeral Home, 226 West Campbell Street, Paoli, IN.  Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 7:00 PM, Sunday, May 7, 2023 and from 9:00 AM until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Paoli Community Cemetery, Paoli, IN.
