Dorothy June Grimes

Dorothy June Grimes 84 of Paoli passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2014 in Bloomington, IN at IU Bloomington Hospice House.  She was born March 16, 1930 to Fred N and Edith Grace Weeks Redenbaugh in Paoli, IN.  She married Edward E Grimes in 1947 and he preceded her in death in 1984. She had been employed at Cornwell Company in Paoli and later at Travelers, Orleans, IN.  She then owned and operated the Redenbaugh Shoe Shop and had the Western Union Telegraph Agency in Paoli, IN. In 1990 she retired from the Indiana Department of Transportation after working there for 17 ½ years. She was a past Matron of Paoli Chapter #472 Order of the Eastern Star.  That same year, her husband was Master of the Paoli Masonic Lodge and Geri was Honored Queen in Job’s Daughters.  She was a former Republican precinct committee member of Paoli SW Township and a member of the local Genealogy Society.  She had accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at the Paoli First Baptist Church in 1948. She was preceded in death by her parents, longtime companion David Cox, her husband, two brothers, Harold and Freddie Redenbaugh, sister Grace Carrico, great granddaughter Kelsey JoyAnne Coulter, and a grandson Kelly Coulter. Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Friday, August 22, 2014 with Eastern Star services Friday evening  and from 9-11 am Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the Dillman-Scott Funeral Home, 226 West Campbell St, Paoli, IN.  The funeral will held 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastors Clifton Coulter and Don Laird officiating.  Interment will follow at the Paoli Community Cemetery.
