Carolyn Kerby Jones, 72, of Paoli, Indiana, passed away on February 18, 2026, at U of L Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on July 23, 1953, in Washington, Indiana, to William Matthew “Bill” Kerby Jr. and Ruth “Rita” Reising Kerby, both of whom preceded her in death.
Carolyn was also preceded in death by:
Husband, Glen Dale Carmichael, married November 11, 1982;
Husband, Harold Buck Jones, married November 2, 2013; and
Special companion, Brad Daugherty.
Carolyn is survived by:
Daughters, Carrie (Brent) Smith of Lafayette, Tennessee, and Sara (Kevin) Meinhart of Peoria, Illinois;
Brother, Billy (Donetta) Kerby of Paoli, Indiana;
Grandchildren, Mason Smith and Preston, Parker, and Peyton Meinhart.
Carolyn has a large, blended family, and is also survived by several stepchildren and step-grandchildren that she loved equally to her own.
Carolyn formerly worked in record keeping and patient transportation at Southern Hills Counseling Center. She later served as a CNA at Paoli Health & Living Community. She was a member of Syria Christian Church and the Saving Historical Orange County Organization. Carolyn loved horses and her pets, but most of all, she cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, February 23, 2026, at Dillman-Scott Funeral Home (226 W. Campbell St., Paoli, Indiana 47454).
Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Dillman-Scott Funeral Home, and again on Monday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service. Interment will follow at Paoli Community Cemetery.
