She attended and graduated from Earhlam College in Richmond, IN and it was there that she met the love of her life Clarence Lumsden Gennett.  They later married and moved to Nashville, TN. with 54 years of marriage.

Adaline loved life and had a wonderfully adventurous spirit.  Growing up, she and her family loved to travel.  They all had the amazing opportunity to drive from Paoli, IN all the way to Boise, ID in a Model T Ford to visit their extended family.

She loved people and was a charter member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Nashville, TN.  She remained an active member for many years serving and leading others as she served her Lord in women’s ministries.

An amazing seamstress she was, she not only sewed for her children, but she also made costumes for the Nashville Children’s Theater.  Playing bridge in the bridge club and sewing in the sewing club kept her quite busy, but she loved every minute of it.  She was a loving mother who raised three children always caring for family and then later, she came to be the longtime caregiver for her own mother.
