Ricky Lee Cassidy, aged 64, entered into eternal rest: on June 21, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones in Orleans, Indiana.
Born on January 22, 1961, Ricky Lee, affectionately known as Rick, dedicated his life to service both as a member of the United States Marine Corps and as a spiritual leader within his community.
Rick served in the Marine Corps from 1979 to 1992, achieving the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. His commitment to his country was matched by his unwavering dedication to his faith.
Following his military career, Rick continued to serve his community through various roles.
He attended Vanderbilt University, where he focused on religious studies and Christian counseling.
Rick was ordained Apostolic Pentecostal Evangelist.
He was mentored by Freddie Davis, Bishop McCormick, and Harry Holt
He became a youth pastor and counselor later
answering God's call to become a pastor in Sommerset Ky, where he served for several years.
Later in life, he moved back to Indiana and became a Home Missions Pastor, often aiding struggling churches and holding Bible studies in his home.
In 2022, he met Pastor Lyle Gillespie at the Louisville Christian Assembly. He quickly became a mentor and friend. The whole body of Christ holds a special place in his heart as they welcomed our family with open arms.
He was a part-owner of his grandfather's business, Cassidy's Masonry. He loved brick work and helped build several homes and businesses in Lawrence County.
He worked for the Times Mail and later became a CNA at Garden Villa, becoming one of the first male aides in the state of Indiana.
In 2010, he worked at Orange Co Transit as a part time Dispatcher and driver. He loved working with the consumers.
For the past five years, he worked as an HHA for Adaptive Nursing/ Help at Home, a role he enjoyed as he helped care for his mother-in-law during that time he also worked at Home Town Waiver Solutions as a DSP/Hab instructor helping care for his special needs stepson.
Rick also served others as a Home Missions Pastor. These roles allowed him to support and uplift many individuals.
Rick's personal life was filled with many joys from his relationships and hobbies. He was a loving and supportive husband to Charity Cassidy, providing not only her needs but also her wants.
He was a dedicated stepfather to Micheal and Jonathan Holmes. His love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for hunting, fishing, and collecting guns and knives. He loved music, often making up silly songs for his family’s enjoyment.
He loved the old worship hymns. He loved to sing with his family, often singing his favorite song, it's All in Him.
He was a devoted Bible reader. He studied the Bible in Greek and Hebrew. Several individuals came to him for their Biblical questions. He lived by the scripture study to show thyself approved.
Rick loved family gatherings and spending time with his friends several gatherings were held at his home. He loved movie night and hosting Bible Triva.
He loved sports, especially football and basketball, having played in high school. But his passion was boxing, winning several matches while serving in the USMC.
He loved watching UK basketball.
He also cherished his time spent with his beloved fur babies: Piper, Gidget, Jessie, Prince, and Princess
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Don Cassidy and Linda Longest; his grandparents who also adopted him at a young age, Robert Harley and Ruth Cassidy; his brother, Anthony Cassidy; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. He is survived by his wife, Charity; stepsons, Micheal and Jonathan Holmes; God-Daughter: Harmony LaHue, Bonus-Daughter: Rebecca Thornton, brothers, Robert (Sammy), Tony, and Daniel Cassidy; his "bonus brother" Gary Terry (Anita) and "bonus sister" Barba Mosson; and his in-laws, Alan and Kimberly Scott, along with several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Cremation was chosen, and a private memorial service will be held for close family and friends. A public memorial will be held Monday, June 30th, at Eastview Baptist Church Paoli Indiana

Pastor Lye Gillespie and Greg Struthers will be officiating the service
Flowers may be sent to the church, or contributions may be made to IU Health Hospice or any Cancer Society in Rick's memory, honoring his compassionate spirit and enduring legacy.
