John Richard Benson, 71, of Huron, Indiana passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at his home.   He was born on September 10, 1946 in St. Albans, WV to Arthur Benson and Frances Church Benson.   He married Myra Tillette Benson on January 21, 1977.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Joan (Gough) Benson, mother-in-law Marie (Turner) Tillette, father-in-law Norman Tillette, one sister-in-law Lana (Mounce) Tillette and one brother-in-law Steve Tillette.

He was a disabled United States Air Force Veteran,

He was an Air Force Veteran.

He attended the Paoli First United Pentecostal Church.

He loved writing music and playing the piano.

                Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M.  Saturday August 25, 2018 at the Paoli United Pentecostal Church with Barry Laird officiating. Interment will follow in the Mitchell City Cemetery in Mitchell, Indiana.  Visitation to be held Friday August 24, 2018 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Dillman-Scott Funeral Home, 226 W. Campbell Street, Paoli, IN 47454 and from 9:00 A.M. until time of service on Saturday at the Paoli United Pentecostal Church, 237 S. Gospel Street, Paoli, IN  47454
