So sorry to hear of the loss of Vic. I was the guidance counselor at PHS when Vic was assistant superintendent. He was very compassionate and loving toward the students. He will be greatly missed. It was a pleasure to know and work with Vic. My deepest sympathy to the family.

Scott, Abby, Katie, Denise and families - I have shed many tears over the years for family and friends, but none quite like I did last evening when I learned Vic had passed. I have been so grateful for social media enabling us to keep in touch after the move to southern Indiana. He played such a large role in my kids' lives at Lebanon High School even though was graduated by another principal, she still felt Vic's presence. A former co-worker of mine, also living in Paoli at the time, the late Terry Whiteman, asked me about Vic shortly after it was announced he was leaving Lebanon. He shared that a get together was planned for the community to get to know he and his family. My comment to Terry was . . . "give him 15 minutes, you will love him". When he returned to work, his comment to me was . . . "it took only 5 minutes - you were so right"! He was especially larger than life with my son Chris who left us in 1991. He and Chris became very close during his high school years and I still am grateful for that. But, he joined us twice when Chris passed, both for his visitation and his services even though the drive to Paoli wasn't a short one. I don't think he ever knew how much that touched us. Our hearts, prayers and love are with you all as you move forward. Know his impact on Lebanon, LHS and my family in particular is one that will remain strong in our hearts. Love and God's strength to all of you.

Much love and prayers,
Teresa, Rob(LHS'88) and Melanie Watson(LHS'92) and Chris LHS 1991

There's not enough words to describe the kind of person he was. Just to name a few of them that stood out to our family was Kind, Sincere, always Happy, Super nice, always had a good plan, put others first, Helpful, Handsome, Wise & Smart, Motivating, Supportive, Gracious, Giving, man of Integrity, and most of all funny and humorous. He was such a good guy and will be truly be missed but always remembered in our family's thoughts and prayers. Dear Scott, Abby, Katie, Denise and your entire family,
I was shocked to here the news about Vic. Time passes all too quickly. Vic and I go back to the early 1960's at good 'ole Indiana Central College. Then teaching and coaching together at Brownsburg was an early beginning to his amazing career as a coach, teacher, and administrator. Vic was so generous when he picked me to be one of his assistant principals at Lebanon High School. He put together a super crew with Will Pullins, Roger Lochmueller, me and many other great coaches. It was a stupendous journey. Vic, as you all know, was about family first. He enjoyed being a dad and I'm sure a grandfather. He was so proud of his family and their accomplishments. I am indebted to Vic for his kindness, friendship and generosity. I will cherish the memories, as will all of you, and know that we all gained a full measure of the Vic Combs' we can do this attitude.

Vic and his family are dear friends of the Limps. We have known them since Vic came to Lebanon. Our daughter was a senior in high school Vic's first year as principal and Vic wrote a letter of recommendation for medical school for her and she has been practicing medicine in Columbus, IN for over 25 years. Jim Rosenstihl and I made several trips to Paoli to see Scott play basketball. As you can see the Limp Family has great and lasting feelings for the Combs family. The whole Combs family has our sympathy.
